Dennis C. Forbes, the creator and publisher of the quarterly K*M*T magazine, has condensed his extensive research and knowledge into seven great discoveries of Ancient Egypt. These discoveries are all concentrated in the Valley of the Kings location in Upper Egypt.
His style is easy to read and written with the armchair archaeologist in mind. The book is heavily illustrated with period etchings, drawings, photographs and diagrams pulled from a wide range of reputable sources. The index is thorough.
For anyone with a good interest in Egyptology or archaeology, this book will make for delightful reading that is best soaked up in smaller bites.
Mr. Forbes does inject personal opinions here and there, but nothing extreme. There are no conspiracy theories to discredit his work. Some speculation about the mysterious occupant of KV55 has since been laid to rest but it is still a fascinating post script to read.
For anyone lucky enough to find a copy in their local library or bookstore, this title should be near the top of the list to read.
