"What stood out for the students, was to learn about a current situation where important developments in politics and communications can be observed and where abstract concepts and ideas come to life. The film connected the different dimensions of politics, society, culture and communication and traced how social change emerges from a complex combination of all of these. And apart from all that, of course, it was great to bring a film and discussion into what is usually a series of academic talks."

-Prof. Arne Hintz, Cardiff University

"At first sight, Iceland –a far away, underpopulated, and largely unknown island in the middle of the Atlantic– looked as distant and as unrelated with Spain and the Spaniards as anything could be... but once locals started to talk about their problems and aspirations, the sense of identification started to grow, and distance began to shorten".

-Prof. Carlos Flores, University of Valencia

'Eileen Jerrett has produced a beautiful film that is politically nuanced and passionate at once. The crisis of the Icelandic constitution has lessons for us all, though quite what those lessons are is still to be worked out. Above all, Blueberry Soup helps clarify the questions we need to be asking.'

-Prof. Alex Prichard, University of Exeter
